How large of image size is too large on small products. The newest webb image in public domain is 8423 x 14589 pixals. How will it print on a product the size of a button? Is squaring the image to 8423 x 8423 still to large for the printing mashines?
I have no facts for you, but it seems to me that if you’ve created a huge file, you’ve done so because there’s a lot of detail in it. If it were to be reduced to the size of a button or magnet, details would become so small as to not be visible. Again, this isn’t fact; rather, it’s just me trying to logic it out.
Well at least you tried. I don’t even understand the question. I would think printing a small image on a big product would be a bad idea, but a many-pixel image on a small product should be fine, except, as you note, any details added would just be too small too see. The part I don’t get in the question is the part about public domain and pixel counts. I do not know what those are being referenced or included here.
It’s a James Webb telescope image. I want to know if the printers will make it look blurry. I’m thinking the answer is Yes. So I may not put it on small products.
