The past week or so, I’ve been having a problem with the crop tool. I have “Lock Aspect Ratio” UNchecked in Settings, and the crop tool Aspect Ratio is set to free form, but it will NOT crop free form! It keeps the aspect ratio anyway. It will only freeform if I hold down Shift. But with my settings it should be the default WITHOUT holding down shift! It happens on all products.
Apparently they changed something. You have to hold the shift key down to make it work.

Design Tool updates - Image Resizing Aspect Ratio … - Zazzle
I noticed the same thing yesterday. I was trying to crop an object while working on an Apple operating system with a mousepad. It was nearly impossible to crop the item I wanted to crop. I finally used the Mask tool as a workaround. (I typically use a Windows operating system with a mouse, so I thought my awkwardness in using the crop tool was user error.)
It took me forever to figure that out… They gave this long confusing explanation of their change, but that little piece was buried. Zazzle staff and I think in very different ways I guess.
This is literally the worst update to the crop tool. PLEASE go back to the way it was. When something is working, why “fix” it?
Thanks @Cat I totally missed that announcement!
I have never liked Zazzle’s crop tool. Why can’t it work like every other crop tool?
Me too! After (literally) hours of cursing, I finally stumbled upon the thread with people having the same problem.
Don’t get me started, I HATE it!
Why reinvent the wheel when the current, basically standardized crop tool used in most software and applications does the job?
