I’ve noticed on a few of my designs that the incorrect product mockup is showing as an option on a product - see the screenshot.
I didn’t upload this mockup here and it isn’t visible when I go into the Media Manager of this product.

So it looks like there are more than a few..
Those images are showing up there because they’re set as the cover images for those collections. If your collection has a cover image, it will be displayed in that spot for all products in the collection.
Actually, the behavior might differ a bit if your product is in more than one collection, I haven’t tested that out, but I’d guess that if the primary collection for that product has a cover image it will appear in the list on the left.
