Promoter/Affiliate Links Switching to "3rd Party" ?

I just posted this to my Pinterest yesterday - it had not sold previously even though it was created in 2019. So I posted it to my pinterest and some community groups yesterday and today it sold… but is listed as “3rd party”.  

How is this “3rd Party”? Is it a coincidence I posted it to Pinterest yesterday and it sold today as “3rd Party” even though it had not sold at all since it’s creation in 2019? 

Is it that easy for a promoter/affiliate link to be hijacked by someone else’s cookie or whatever? If so, what is in it for me to do all the extra work? 

There is no doubt they purchased something as a result of clicking on my link so how did that get turned into “3rd Party”?

Referrals are caught from the first click that brings the customer to whatever site/product they end up purchasing. The sale very well may have come from Pinterest, but the customer more than likely browsed other products or creations and picked up someone else referral on the way. Referrals don’t get overthrown when you click on a new one even if they purchase your product. It stays with the original referee. (for Zazzle, this is up to 7 days)
