Reevaluating Product Title Character Limits for Better SEO & Conversions

Hi Zazzle Team,

I completely understand and support the goal of preventing keyword stuffing to keep product listings clean. However, the current 50-character limit can be quite restrictive when trying to create clear, appealing, and SEO-friendly titles. Key details like theme, occasion, or style often get cut short, making it harder for customers to discover our products through search. Would it be possible to run a creator survey or review performance data to evaluate expanding this limit? A bit of extra room would make a big difference for creators optimizing their listings without sacrificing quality.

That is actually a pretty optimal length for SEO in Google’s eyes I believe. Whether the product title is considered the H1 or H2, they usually want under 60 characters. I’m guessing that is why they have it set at that.

From an SEO standpoint, the current Zazzle title length is actually the right amount of characters. Google really does cut off long titles in search results, and once a title gets cut, Google reads it as incomplete metadata. That can hurt indexing and click‑throughs, which none of us want.Zazzle’s limit still gives us room for about five words before the product default, and honestly, that’s enough to create a clean title without keyword stuffing. A tight, well‑structured title almost always performs better .
