I just noticed that under our product image on a product page there are two product displays / carousels that appear on the page in the follow order:
Other Products you might like
Other Products In this collection
I would like to suggest: that if the product designer has products shown in the section that says Other Products from this collection that this display be shown above the section that says Other Products you might like.
It’s only fair that the designer products be given display priority / preference over the Other Products since they went through the time and effort to create the collection this product appears in.
Yes, if the customer came in on a link that brought them to the “Landing Page of Doom” with all those other stores’ products on it and they still clicked through to view your product page anyway, then the product and associated collection should be front and center…The customer should not be met with a clutter of other designs breaking up the shopping flow from main product to its coordinating collection.
I agree! The landing page is painfully slow to fully load, at least on my computers. It takes a few seconds before the designer’s collection is even displayed without jumping around.
I also infer, from the customer’s perspective, that they would want to see items with the designer’s style ahead of other designs. I’m wondering if alternate versions of this page have been usability tested with customers? Thanks for your consideration!
I’m now seeing “Products in this Category” as the 2nd choice, without even showing our own Collections any more. So basically, both lines of products include products not made by the designer. I think this new development draws even more traffic away from the designer.
