Royalty applied is not what product is set to

My product has been set to 14.9% royalty since created 4/2021. Today the royalty applied was 14.6%. Can you please tell me what might have happened here? I would like to keep it at 14.9%. Thank you.

Here is the link to my product and attached is a screenshot showing the rate applied this morning.

This is the info for the card. Until today the royalty applied has been correct (14.9%).  Thank you in advance.

There was secondary content added (like a background or an element from the design tool contributed by secondary content designers) that reduced your royalty. When secondary content is added there is a split with the original designer and there is no opt out or non participation for the original designer. Percentages vary depending on the type of element used and how many are used per product. There was a ton of discussion on the old forums about it, but unfortunately all of the old forum info is now gone.

Hi all,

I will be moving this as it is not a technical issue.

Oh sorry about that Mark. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply Malissa! I was aware of the design tool option but did not know how it affected our royalty. How are we able to tell when this happens?

P.S. Love your artwork!

You are welcome.

You will basically know when your royalty is reduced.  There is no notification otherwise.   Also, when it has happened to me it shows up in the Zazzle sale notification email like you sold 2 (or more) of the item, but you will see a zero or penny royalty.  We never did get actual clarification on why it showed up like that only that it reflected secondary content.  I haven’t gotten the secondary carveout in a while though, so I don’t know if that is still happening with the sales emails.

And, thanks!
