Of COURSE it was a “3rd party” sale, that’s all I ever see anymore. My question is something a lot of designers wonder about - WHO got credit for the sale being made - by that I mean was it Zazzle or another affilicate marketer, not an affiliate name other than whether it was Zazzle or not.
@Van Congrats on the sale!
When you get the email to say it’s shipped, if it’s Z as the 3rd party - you’ll see a long string of numbers as their tracking code.
If it’s blank - it could be someone else or they may put their own tracking code
I’ve asked for this information many times. I want to know how many times the “third party” is Zazzle. We need transparency on this.
Nearly 50% of your royalty has been taken away from you. That is not right. You didn’t even earn 10% of this sale. I would increase your royalty to 20%.
@Sara_H But Sara_H, as a seller you won’t get such an email. No?
@MOM Not sure I understand what you are saying. We get emails when our products are shipped (if you have enabled them)
@Sara_H Oh really? I had no clue. I have to check where to enable this feature. You are always such a fountain of knowledge, like Col too. Thank you!! ![]()
@Sara_H Where can I set this feature? I’m blind today, I definitely didn’t sleep enough.

@Sara_H @Oh, I have this enabled. Always had. But I have never received a message that an item has been shipped. That would be handy because one of my local customers just mentioned yesterday that his t-shirts have not arrived yet (and I was a bit surprised to hear that).
@MOM I’d edit and remove that image @James as it shows your email
Its under My Store Email Preferences
@MOM It’s not a separate email - it’s the “Cha-Ching! You’ve got sales!” email - gets sent when item is shipped I believe
Oh!! I thought they were just lagging (for days) for some reason. That’s wonderful to know!! Thank you. I’ll check tonight when I’m on my laptop. Thank you!! ![]()
Mine is enabled as well but I never get any notification that item has shipped either.
I’ve seen a lot of posts about/requesting that designers be shown if a 3rd party sale is credited to Zazzle but no answers from Z. I don’t think requesting we be provided with that information is unreasonable. The lack of response of any kind about it makes me wonder why not.
Think back to when the changes were made. Z “suggested” royalty be lowered to 10% - BUT they’ll still grab back those marketing fees if it was lowered. No matter how you look at all the changes, from being pushed to market our own products, to creating our own mockups, to losing a chunk of our royalty to being forced to use a crappy new design tool, things have gotten pretty designer unfriendly.
It truly is discouraging. One out of every 20 sales, maybe, may not be referred. Everything else they claim is a referral. Getting .32 when I was expecting .81, is a slap in the face. Even promoting your own products, they always claim that it’s a 3rd party referral. I’m not sure if this place is even worth it anymore, honestly.
