Simple Question - adding swash to customer input text

Silly question. I had been away too long as far as creating paper goods such as a business or wedding products are concerned. 
I cannot remember how I did it!

I remember only certain fonts have that capability.
I see my own work has a little square to the left of the first letter and the right of the last letter.

I know I can just copy and paste from my old work. I just would like to know HOW I did it before.
Goal is to add the swash to what ever input the customer types.  Help?

Here is a link to a previous convenient post by @WHS_Designs  that provides a list of all Z fonts that have special characters. Find the font you want, go to the design area and copy and paste the correct ‘little square’ from her design to yours.
