I have a product that #1 is not showing in the category in the backend but doing a search will find it, and #2 it also shows not sold ever - when I know it was sold because I bought it. For my $175.00 purchase I’d at least like it to show it has been sold.. it has had plenty of time to index - and if I search the entire store it will find it.. but if I search the category it is in or supposed to be in, it does not find it. I have other categories that have products in them but show empty

#1 is a widespread issue, there are multiple threads going on about it.
#2 - if you personalized one of your own published products and purchased it without doing the hokey-pokey first, it’s considered a personal buy of a private non-published item. Don’t have time at the moment to explain further but I am sure someone else will jump in.
With a published for-sale product, if you as the Creator personalize it (or otherwise edit it), the system sees this as you starting another design and that is often what we’re doing. So if you then buy it, it’s treated as buying a personal/private not-for-sale design and thus no sale stats or royalties.
The easy “fix” is to go in anonymously as a guest (I just use an alternate browser w/ no Zazzle cookies on it), personalize the product, add to cart, and then sign-in when prompted to at check-out. Make sure you’re going in on referral link so you get the self-referral, too.
