Some Invitation Mockups have the Phone covering up the Invite - Is this by Design?

I noticed that some of the Zazzle-created default mockups for invitations are now showing the hand holding the phone pretty much covering up the entire invitation like this:

Nothing Fancy Just Love Lavender Floral Wedding Invitation | Zazzle

I’m not sure if this is a bug or if it’s some sort of a test to see if it increases digital sales? If it is by design, I’m not sure that I’m a fan - I mean it does put digital front and center, but it seems like it might be off-putting for folks who want to buy physical invitations.

I see the same thing on all my digital downloads. I hope this is a glitch, because the phone is huge and covering up the entire product and it is so distracting. The customer may think it’s only available as a digital download. I too am not a fan of this and hope it’s not expected behavior. After looking at some of the products, you can not even see the actual product behind the phone.

This looks intentional, but see what information I can dig up.

Moving this to Instant Downloads so that people can chime in with any feedback they have. If this ends up being a bug then I’ll make sure it’s fixed.

Thanks Scott, I wasn’t sure where to put it!

I have the same thing, and it is terrible! I liked the original, because it clearly indicated to the customer that it was available both in digital and physical versions. With this new setup, it looks like it’s only digital!

I can also say it’s happening to me. I’ve spot checked the MP and don’t see it on other invitations. Perhaps the bug is working it’s way across the platform?

I’m seeing the same thing - I was thinking/hoping maybe it was just something we could see on our own invites, but I spot checked yours and did find at least one where it’s showing up: Modern Script Photo Gay Wedding Invitation | Zazzle

Maybe they’re testing it out or something? I guess it’s incentive to make more covers because I really don’t like it!

I think they are rolling out the "update slowly, because not all mine have it yet. But more and more of them are showing up.

It’s happening to the posters as well I noticed today.

Oy! Maybe it’s just me, but when I see that phone over the image like that, it doesn’t even register to me that the invite or the poster is what’s on the phone - all my brain sees is that someone is holding a phone in my way so I can’t see the product. I really hope Zazzle re-thinks this one!

It is possible that this is a fix for the invitation showing as much lighter than the actual invitation (re colors) as the colors show properly on the mobile phone view. This is just speculation on my part but it ‘is’ a fix for that whether that’s the intention or not. Perhaps till they resolve the color discrepancy issue?

I don’t have any color discrepancies on mine, yet they still cover up the whole invitation with the phone! I see some people still escaped the fiasco, so either it’s a beta test, or they haven’t finished rolling it out to everybody yet. If this is a permanent situation (I think it is), I’m sure glad I have cover photos!

@Connie  & @CreativeLeahG  In terms of the color discrepancy, it’s still very much there - just only really apparent on darker colors. You can clearly see it if you download both the artwork and the Zazzle mockup - the artwork is the chosen color, but the mockup is a few shades lighter. The image on the phone shows the artwork view, not the mockup. On the Zazzle mockup with the smaller phone, the color discrepancy is more apparent because more of the Zazzle mockup shows through, but it’s still there in this new image with the phone covering most of the invitation.

So, turns out that this was a bug, and we’re fixing it.

I’ll just say the same thing, thank you for looking into the problem and letting us know about the fix.
