Store front Sort By: Low-to-high and High-to-low not working

When on store front (logged in and logged out) Sort By price doesn’t seem to do anything -

Sort by newest works as expected

Tested on firefox, vivaldi and opera. (windows)

something similar is not working in the backend with certain Sort by search parameters.

specifically, the sort by Orders (All time/Last 7 Days/Last 30 Days), Last Sold Date, and Qty Sold (Most to Least)
are not displaying correctly.
