Strange thing going on in my collection

I have a collection of name plates, and suddenly they are all showing the front on view in the collection, even though I have all of them set to the in situ view! What’s even stranger, is that they show correctly on the preview image when I share the collection Pinterest! They also show correctly in my back end- usually the opposite is true, and the correct view shows in the collection, but not in my backend. There are both recent products and ones that have been posted a while, and they all look the same.

This is also happening for me with other products. In collections they are not displaying the in situ views.

That’s an extremely tedious workaround! I think for this collection I’ll just leave it as is. What I can’t figure out, though, is that I did NOT add the products to the collection from the product pages, but from my back end! I rarely if ever add to a collection from the product page, because it’s easier in the back end to select multiple products and add them all together.

unfortunately, yes, it is a tedious workaround.

if I recall correctly, another creator mentioned in another thread that the presence of cover photos is another potential cause of this snafu.
