Tags in collections keep defaulting to single words, phrases making them invalid re searches

Mentioned this in another thread and was asked to mention here:

Tags added as phrases for collections in some cases are defaulting to single words.

Whether one adds phrases using " or , they default to single meaningless words.

In theory only 5 tags can be added, but when this error occurs, as many as 8 single-word tags can be seen. Screenshots already provided.

I understand this is being ‘worked on’?

Q: Will the fix to prevent this happening include correcting those collections already affected as with over 1000 collections (and I am sure others are similarly affected) it won’t be possible for us to ‘do the fix’ ourselves regarding re-entering the tags.

This is quite a big issue as it means our collections won’t be found in marketplace searches if the tags aren’t as they should be.

Thank you

Yes! Many of mine are messed up.

There is a work-around for this. It’s not as good as a permanent fix for the problem, but at least it’s something.:slightly_smiling_face: After creating the collection, just delete all the one-word tags and then edit / re-enter them correctly and it should stick. To save time, when I first create the collection I don’t enter all my tags, I only enter a single tag so I don’t have so many to delete. All my collections are showing the correct tags now since doing it this way.

I’ve been twiddling around like this, but it hasn’t stuck in the long term.. I’ll check again but re older collections … it’s potentially a disaster BUT also ‘random’ as it doesn’t appear that all collections are affected. I’ll do some more research.

It worked for me, thank you 😁

I tried this and it’s not working for me.
