I’ve been using the “Make object(s) permanent and always visible” for complex elements where grouping is necessary, including with template elements that customers can personalize. I preferred this over locking layers, so to provide customers with the flexibility of move items around the design space, while still maintaining the integrity of the object(s) as whole.
It seems like this is no longer feasible. The personalization option is still available on the product’s page, but it is no longer functioning. Please correct this.

Hello @Fiona . This issue has not been resolved. Would you please advise on status or action needed from the artists’ end? I personally have many products that have this problem, I would hate to have to create new products for all of them to correct this personalization issue. Please advise.
I just tried with your 100 Days t-shirt and no matter what I did, couldn’t change the S to another initial. (The other two template fields worked fine.)
Off-topic but another negative to the new interface everyone but the Designer sees is that Designers can’t help other Designers because we can no longer see how they actually set up their design in the Design Tool. I know that’s not exactly a priority for Z but these forums are a source of invaluable help to designers and the new interface has greatly reduced the ability for the community to help each other.
Thanks for checking. Yes, that is correct. The “S” is the element that is part of the design that is made permanent and always visible. The other two personalization options are not part of that particular design element. I kept these as stand-alone. In case customers do not what to add any additional text, they can just not fill or delete them altogether.
