The new font display system makes it harder to view and choose fonts — not easier. And the way it covers the design artboard is annoying and not helpful at all.
Please consider returning to the previous font display.

Was thinking the same thing today so I agree. I’m getting a bit more used to it but it takes up much more of my time. At times, I need to see both sides of the Design Tool with the design in the middle. Not possible.

I agree. All they really had to do was add a search bar at the top of the original font display and maybe a subsection for your favorites. As it is now it makes choosing your font tedious and takes a lot longer as well as covers your design as you are working.

The font layout is just the beginning of the (whoever is in charge of designing the program) problems for actually being able to use the thing. Awhile ago the yellow dot letting one know that the image needed to be resized wasn’t showing. Then a couple days ago three stars similar to the remove background showed up where the dot used to be, That was ok until a huge blue banner dropped down over my work and it was telling me the image is blurry and this is a preview. All well and good for someone just making something the first and likely only time. The problem is that it covers work and does not go away unless you close it on the x. Now today when I did resize an image a white box came up showing the old image and the new asking which I was using. This makes no sense for designers unless they are figuring in extra ways to charge for using the simplest fixes. Sorry Z but I lost my confidence in you. They are also adding extra images to file storage.???

I have been avoiding adding text due to this issue and today wanted to add Welcome on flags but the font box covers the entire design and I can not see what it looks like. I noticed that I started to question this sometime last month and still did not even hear what is being done about it. Is this issue even known of? Thank you

Definitely it’s known of- a lot of people have brought this issue to their attention. I don’t know if they are going to fix it, though.

Preferred the way the Design Tool was before this latest font tool layout change, and before the pink lines were added recently that so many designers have complained about both of these new changes! It all worked fine before, so why did someone at a Zazzle department decide it didn’t work correctly anymore for the designers?

I didn’t realize everyone’s view would be different depending on their screen size, but that makes sense. I have a wide monitor, so I love the new font display; it’s still off to the side and doesn’t block my design area. Hopefully they can come up with a happy medium that works for everyone. 
Designers, if the font pop-out menu is blocking your design, try lowering the scale of your webpage. In chrome it’s called “Zoom.” But what it really does is change the size of elements on the page. It’ll make the pop-out menu smaller.
My thoughts on the new menu: I do not like the sidescroll to get to font categories. Not only is are the mouseover arrows clunky to use, but it now takes me about six clicks to get to the Script category whereas before it just took me two. And whatever strange lazy-load thing they’re doing with the list is a horrible user experience because the scroll bar does not work as expected. I have never understood why mobile-first design has to mean “works measurably worse on desktop.”
I do like having the list of fonts used in the design. Very good. But the popular fonts list doesn’t make any sense to me. Designers are curating their own lists of fonts, so I’m assuming this is for the customer. But do customers really need six almost-identical serif fonts showcased for them? And do they really know how to use the Dongle font, which has bizarre text sizing and spacing? Instead, maybe have a curated list of useful, easy-to-use fonts for non-designers. Then, if someone has any favorites selected, maybe allow the user to show that list in place of the popular fonts.
I would consider this idea, since this post is already present, that if either the Popular or Favorites is selected, the Fonts in this design will show up directly underneath, as it does in the Popular. This would help to better find a matchable font faster. *Or possibly include it for the All Fonts as well. This does make it faster to design, and probably would help customers faster too.
I don’t believe they still have done nothing about this problem. I started to point it out back in July and they have not bothered to find one tech person to at least try and address it. They had no problem messing things up and adding dozens of things that are mostly good but still not a simple way to opt out of this font set up. I guess whoever they hired to add the new editing platform had them sign off on the ability to change it in anyway. I keep hitting the remove background accidentally while trying to navigate the fonts and it pis$#$ me off. Has anyone heard about a possible adjustment in the very near future? I have not been able to do much personalizing text and invitations with this.
