i SAW DETOUR SHIRTS FORM YOUTUBE  UPLOAD A TRANSPARENT FILE TO ZAZZLE AND HIS WORKED PERFECTLY. WHEN I DO THE SAME PROCESS IT DOES NOT WORK

I have no issues uploading a PNG transparent file to the design tool. Can you describe more about the process you are using, and tell us what file type you are trying to upload?

Indeed- post an example of what you are getting and describe your process. 
I use svg files generated from Illustrator pretty often these days and they always work fine.
