I kicked around which board to post this in, but does anyone know how long it takes for the “likes” counter on a product page to update after someone likes the product?
The ones I’ve checked haven’t updated after 2 or 3 days.

Just curious: do likes even matter in terms of affecting zrank or mp placement? Or is it just a vanity thing?

To tell the truth, I have no idea! I thought it a bit odd that they had been added to the notifications; never thought much about it until I saw a few notifications that someone had liked a product. Then I checked the product and found the counter still at zero. So I don’t know what purpose it serves. Maybe someone from Zazzle can tell us?

I was notified of a “like” two days ago. This one hasn’t yet been updated, however, the other two that I checked now have been updated. I was notified 3 days ago on those two. So perhaps my question has been answered? It’s not a big deal at all, but I think we are still wondering if the likes have any other value than making us feel good…which is always nice. But does it affect a product’s rank or time in the MP if the product still hasn’t sold?

It’s certainly possible that someone Liked a product, but then un-Liked it a little bit later on.

Could we please get an answer regarding the importance of “likes” on Zazzle (zrank, product placement in mp) besides it being a feel good thing? A. Yes? B. No, it doesn’t matter?

I’ve reached out to find out a bit more about how Likes factor into Zrank and marketplace placement, but I haven’t heard back. Traditionally, we haven’t been able to share much relating to Zrank or marketplace rankings so I may not have much information to share here. I’ll follow up if I hear otherwise.

It seems to, at least on the mobile app side… I have several items I’ve viewed from the Zazzle app that say “Trending! This item has been viewed ‘x’ times … with a diamond icon”
I have been wondering this too because ever since we got this notification bell, I will see that someone liked a product and then when I view the product the “like” does not show. It is on ALL recent/newer products for over the past month. The most recent new products that show likes are mid June (even though I get notifications that many of the newer products have been liked).
I don’t know offhand if it is doing it to older products too because those already had likes, so I don’t know if the new “like” is counting because I don’t know how many likes it already had…
But with the new products, it is easy to tell since they are starting at zero likes - so when I see (via the notification bell) that someone liked it but it still shows at zero, it is easy to tell the likes are not registering.

Likes don’t show for me either. I get notified.
