There’s been long-standing confusion around how royalty and marketing fees are treated for tax purposes, and it’s time for clear guidance.
Can the community moderator clarify whether the marketing/advertisement and royalty fees are included in our 1099 forms so they can be properly deducted as business expenses, or if we’re expected to track them manually?
Many of us operate small home businesses and file taxes yearly with legitimate expense deductions including computer programs, office supplies, and advertising costs on platforms like Pinterest and Facebook. These expenses add up quickly, and understanding whether Zazzle-related fees are already captured in the 1099 is essential for accurate reporting under Section 8.
A direct response from the moderator would be appreciated to help ensure we’re handling things properly.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter
