Upload products to a new Collection a Headache

I found trying to get products into a new Collection a real headache:
1) The upload for multiple products failed to work. (A window opens in Collections showing products to add.) Only one made it actually into the new Collection. I'd try again and first item that appeared in the Collection was replaced by a different item entirely, so the collection only showed one that one item. The new multiple upload system isn't working very well.
2) I had to go to back end store products and add each item for the new Collection ONE AT A TIME. Only then did they each show as being in that Collection. Only then was there a acknowledgement for each being added.
3) The Collection confused the final product item I wanted to add with the front media image picture (though they aren't the same) and kept showing me the media picture as being already in the Collection vs adding the product I wanted to add. After trying several times, I deleted the front media image, then was able to add the product to the collection, then reloaded the media image. (the image names for each were NOT identical or anything, but clearly different.) What a pain.

I have also had the front media picture swapped out into another product. It was fine on the PC but was showing the wrong media picture on my phone 😏.
I also had the 'add to collection' fail, all the items were numbered in the preview but were missing when "View on zazzle". I waited but it never corrected - two collections did this and then I gave up and remade the collections. The issue was resolved.
'Add to collection' on the usual products view (select a new product and an existing product) says "already in collection" when I know that only one is! To resolve I have to delete from collection and select to add again.  hey ho.
