Hi Creators,

We’re excited to share some big news: Zazzle is welcoming Hobnob, a beloved mobile-first event planning app, into the Zazzle family!

Hobnob has already helped millions of people organize everything from milestone birthdays and weddings to fundraisers and casual get-togethers. By combining Hobnob’s event planning tools with Zazzle’s unmatched custom design and product offerings, we’ll be able to support customers across the entire event journey, from the very first idea to the final thank-you.

For you as Creators, this means more opportunities for your work to shine. Customers won’t just come to Zazzle when they need invitations or décor, they’ll start their event planning journey with us. That opens the door for your work to be seen, selected, and celebrated earlier in the process and across more touchpoints.

We’re in the early stages of integrating Hobnob into Zazzle Events, and we’ll keep you updated as the strategy develops and integration rolls out. For more details, you can check out this page: zazzle.com/events. Hobnob will continue to run as a separate app as the integration work is underway and there are apps for both Apple and Android users.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for bringing your creativity to the Zazzle community. We’re excited about this new chapter and all the possibilities it will create.

Does this only work for downloadable invitations then? Or am I missing something?

@Anne  It appears to be for people to get together on the planning side of events. It doesn't seem to be a place where members do the actual purchasing.

@BarbaraThere’s a link in the post ( zazzle.com/events ) that gives more details about Hobnob. It's a mobile app where customers can choose, create, and send digital invitations to their guests via text or email. It also lets them track RSVPs, set up group chats, send reminders and updates, and even share event photos — all in one place. So yes, Hobnob does provide digital invitations, which makes Anne’s question very relevant. Once the integration is finalized, will Hobnob only offer Zazzle’s instant download invitations, or will it include all invitation designs available on the marketplace?

From what I’ve seen, once a customer selects and personalizes an invitation, they can upload their guest list, and Hobnob automatically sends the invitations by text along with RSVP options. Since guests only see the design as a single flat item — and customers can only personalize within the platform but not download the design — I’m curious if, in terms of licensing, this would be considered the same as purchasing a physical card, as there is no danger of getting any individual elements of the invitation stolen.

@ Heather, do you know when this is expected to roll out? Hobnob is already announcing on their website that they’re now part of Zazzle and that this feature is “coming soon” ( https://hobnob.app/zazzle/ ),  so it seems the launch might not be far off.

I’d also love to understand more about how this will work for designers in terms of commissions, especially since Hobnob currently runs on a yearly membership model.

Looking forward to more information!

Looks good, congratulations on the acquisition.

I note in hobnob terms it says:

So this is a fully integrated service fully owned by Zazzle but with a new subscription access?

How will the use of our designs be recorded as single units and paid via this type of usage? Will commissions remain the same.

@CreativeLeahG  Your post inspired me to look a little deeper wherein I found that Zazzle actually acquired Hobnob. When they said, "Zazzle is welcoming Hobnob, a beloved mobile-first event planning app, into the Zazzle family," many of us interpreted this to mean a simple collaboration between two separate companies. Nope. 😎

This makes sense, given that Zazzle's main deal has always been events and the necessary invitations. Why reinvent the wheel when the wheel already exists?

This sounds like a partnership with great potential -- congrats!
