Temporary sales dip?

It is extremely rare for me to come into one of the forums and ask this but.... am I the only one having an unusually slow day today?  I wouldn't be asking but my sales are down today at least 50-70 percent today specifically.... so i got curious if I'm alone in this today.   This is not a generic complaint about sales but a curiosity about this one off day.

I admit I did not start working till noon today but since I generally work 7 days a week I should be able to have a moment for personal life tasks.

If I'm alone in having an unusually off day, I still with you wall continued success.

Same activity for me since mid-December ---- NONE

Weekends are usually very slow for me. Yesterday was 2 sales. Couldn't even break $3 in earnings.

My sales have fallen off the cliff since mid December...precipitated (imo) by a zRank drop for no reason. Its my opinion that manipulating  algorithms are the cause.  Zazzle used to be a source of income...not any more. No amount of promotion has had any effect resulting in sheer invisibility.

Saturdays are very slow for me, and yesterday was quite slow, but today has been a very, very productive day, although someone canceled something, impossible to know what it was without doing too much research. I was expecting a slower January, but it really is running much better than expected.

Today has been quiet for me too....not totally dead but just kinda sleepy hohum. January to-date has been decent though, with sales up over last year by a tad.

Ha! Opposite for me. Yesterday & today are the first good days I've had in weeks!

Mind you... I have not been having a terrible month. The day before yesterday was a strong day. I am well accustomed to a fall off of business following holidays, especially Christmas season where (Americans anyway) spend then get thrifty for a few weeks after the holiday. That... is always expected.

I was just caught off guard by today's sales.
I'm VERY very grateful for the opportunity this platform has afforded me. And I always remind myself it's not the day's sales that matter, it is the month's sales that matter.

I'm seeing a surprising amount of traffic today but no one's bought anything so far.

Patchy time of year though with a fair sprinkling of no sales days happening since Xmas.

From how much time are you a Zazzle creator?

Are you asking me? If you are... I work full time Zazzle.  I started here around 2009.

I hope that answers your question

Thank you for answer. I discovered Zazzle, just recenlty. Having less sales too after middle December.

In my earlier post I stated that it is common to have a sale lull after holidays, especially Christmas here in the US (not sure where you are based). Not sure if this lull occurs in other countries after the holidays?  So I'm used to there being a lull.

But this year I did not see that much of a lull, only on that one day I posted about which I found odd. But I was sick during half of the month of December so I wasn't expecting much to begin with.

My opinion as a Bronze seller: my sales are ok. Last year I started to see some increase in sales and it has been stable so far.

My sales are being positive, much better than last year, really surprised as I expected to be much slower

Looking at the latest figures, last month was uncharacteristically "poor" for me. Especially strange as the previous month was a record high! I'm wondering if there's been a general slump in sales with people tightening their belts as the global recession bites?

I have already commented in another post, my sales in January have been good.

Basically I make stationery and I have sold many cards for weddings and proposals, quinceañeras, funerals... It has been really incredible, because I did not expect it. January 2022 was pretty mediocre and I thought it would be like this. I am reading that other designers are not very happy with the results and think that it is affecting the recession, well, it does not seem to be the case at the moment, but it is all so unpredictable....

Ever since Zazzle has been changing the algorithm and focusing on cover photos as their priority, my sales have gone down exponentially. It's such a shame and it worries me about the future of my stores. I am trying to update with cover photos but it is costly. I really wish they weren't only picking items to be at the top based on cover photos, but rather what is selling well. I don't see how it benefits them either.

I agree with you HeatherMarie ! I Sincerely hope that hasn't caused a big drop in our sales. The algorithym to my mind is all over the place, and I wonder how long customers will stay on the site to find That Special Product! Keep it Simple! Important to remember that relevent tags of our products create value re Mr Google with direct contact from potential customers to our stores on Zazzle .Re Cover photos I think Zazzle has to seriously look at the quality of the product first and foremost before giving designers who have instigated them becoming first in the queue=search. High Sale results from Designers should naturally command a high place spot on Zazzle! Business savvy owners should know this!  Trending products can be introduced in a different

format! Designers with Cover photos given first place on Zazzle, should be second place to Sales history ! A no brainer I believe!  Jillian

Yes, it is very disappointing that sales are second to cover photos.

I think the best way for Zazzle to get everyone on board with cover photos is if they had ones to choose from based on their products.

I've been working on my covers for months and it really works. Many items sell out within a few days of posting the cover. As a rule I am placing on the products that are sold every day. If you don't have it and it has just been sold, I create the cover and in a few days it is very possible that it will be sold again. My Bestsellers have a cover photo and new products too. It's laborious and tedious, but it makes my products stand out significantly.
