Pinterest's "0" pin stats issue for new pins

As many of us know for some reason Pinterest stops recording pin stats for new pins added to accounts. Consequentially, this also crashes your Pinterest accounts' data and analytics at the same time.

Pinterest is doing it's "0" pin stats again and for me it started on the 11th. This time there is nothing for stats when visiting via the boards pins too. I have written to them directly today in hopes to get some official answer this otherwise annoying problem.

BTW, if you ever need to write to them directly for help with your business account you can use this link. I'd bookmark it because it's a hassle to find where to contact them. >> https://help.pinterest.com/en/contact#no-back

If you are going to write to them about this problem, take screen shots in advance. This will save you time.

If I hear back, I'll let you know what they say. If you've written to Pinterest about this same issue before, please share your findings here.

Yes, I noticed this, too. If you click on "See more" below the stats, you can see the impressions, pin clicks, etc.

Unfortunately, mine are all "0" using this method as well. I know others have clicked on these pins and followed them to Z. So something is still amiss.

Here is Pinterest's reply:

"Thank you for your question about impressions and viewers. I've checked your account and can confirm that your account isn't flagged on our end for any issue that could be causing a drop in analytics and Pin impressions.

Like other organic distribution platforms, Pinterest sees natural ebbs and flows with content distribution which results in variations in impression volume and viewership. Oftentimes, fluctuations can result from changes in seasonality, format type, content quality, related interests for content, engagement rates, or updates that Pinterest makes to our system to better deliver valuable ideas to Pinners. Our users look for fresh, new Pins and our content distribution system responds accordingly.

Pinterest encourages creators to publish new, original content on a regular basis as the best way to build an audience on Pinterest. We encourage new publishing over Saving others' or your own already-pinned content. In general, when you publish content on Pinterest you can expect that it may be distributed to your followers, but as you create high quality, inspiring content that resonates with Pinners, it has the potential to be distributed more broadly in home feed as well as other surfaces on our platform (related pins, search, etc). Given this, you should not expect the same performance from all content that is published. Instead, we recommend experimenting with different formats, related interests, and adding your own spin on our creative best practices to see what works to ensure you are maximizing your reach.

Over time as you create content that Pinners love and engage with, you have the potential to build an on-platform audience which may result in higher impression volume and viewership on future content."

I have to admit since I have slowed down here on Z I've not been making special pins and instead, I've been using only the "Share" button. I'd be curious if others who have experienced the "0" effect of pin analytics had this happen on their custom pins.

I am getting the “0” effect on manual pins, too. After a few days, the number begins to show.

Last night I made a manual pin and this morning the stats for that new pin are "0". It could be because of the previous 0's my accounts analytics are so bad they are starting from scratch again. 🙄

Your experience is the same as mine.

A generous member of Col's Discourd group posted a screen shot from Reddit. It appears it's happening to many people and there is a response from someone who mentioned Pinterest has said it is a bug. They are working on a "fix".
Perhaps?!? Nothing for us to do except 🤞 and wait. 😐

More developments. This came today. It seems I was sent their canned answer and someone was actually aware it is a known problem.

Thanks for that follow-up. This makes me wonder if our pins are being seen but the numbers are  not getting recorded. I'd much prefer that "dream" than thinking nothing is being seen.

I KNOW my pins are getting seen even though all my stats are 0, because I've gotten a few referrals and Pinterest is the only place I promote.

Thanks for posting this. I've been noticing the same thing as well for the past few days. I make manual pins. I've also been clicking through them to make sure it goes to my Zazzle product. So it should show that there's been a click & it doesn't. When it's working correctly, it does show the click.

I love how they initially sent you the canned response. I've written to them in the past & it's pretty much useless. They love to not take any responsibility for the broken things on their site.

This is happening to me as well and it's so frustrating. I enjoy looking at my Pinterest daily to see what little views, saves and clicks I get. It's been happening for a few weeks and I have a variety of fresh pins and a few from the simple share as well, I like to mix it up. Clearly it's an issue on Pinterest's side, I think it was a bit unfair of them to not take full responsibility on this one. I hope they fix it soon. I am aware you can see some stats by clicking on see more but I can't help but wonder if there isn't some suppression because I am not seeing the kinda of impressions I would normally expect. Obviously not all pins perform well but some just seem to be very under the norm.

i've found all the 'links' to Zazzle have vanished again. The pin is still there, but in order to click through you have to click on the 3 dots, (which no one is going to do). Sometimes they re appear and sometimes they don't!!It's really annoying.

Still no views, clicks, or saves shown for me on pins from the last week.

I had a tiny bit of movement but it's also stopped for me. My mindset is not to great with this sort of thing. Whenever systems don't work as they should it gets in my head and I almost stop working. Like here and the indexing, I used to feel I had to force myself to keep going.

Like that little blue fish in the movie Finding Nemo. Dori... "just keep going, just keep going..." 😄 🐟
