Hi all
Yesterday I discovered how to create videos in Canva, it's actually as easy as creating covers. They don't need to be fancy to qualify as a video.
Quick video tutorial here, it's NOT professional, I've literally just got back from swimming, saw a post from a much respected designer losing heart over videos, so thought I'd quickly whip out this tutorial!

The end result (one I made earlier you can see via Zazzle) here

NOTE! I forgot to add,
The firework videos I pulled up but didn't use can be used as 'backgrounds' so basically you can either use the templates via the 'design tab' or the 'elements tab' to get animations.

Looks surprisingly easy. Are more video templates with Canva Pro?

It is! Literally created in minutes. I didn't realize not all these features are part of the free version. Gutted 😞

@CreativeLeahG Brill video although I notice you have Canva Pro so a lot of what you did isn't available on the free version of canva (magic switch /video template/ remove background etc ) still worth a watch! Thanks!

Oh really, drat! This is the trouble I don't know what's included re free version.
What I can say in that case is that the $9.99 for Canva Pro is sooooooooooo worth it.
Sorry folks 😞
@Scott please can you remove the word 'free' from my title! My error

@CreativeLeahG 9.99 a month is another subscription fee I just don't have the budget for until all those sales start rolling in 🤣😂 If you're on windows - clipchamp (part of microsoft) is another free and easy video tool (paid subscription model is an option) https://clipchamp.com/en/ they do send out freebie elements from time to time

Yes I tried it and several others but they all need paying month subs... I am just not a position to justify that at the moment. I have found using my covers and making a slide show is relatively painless or be it took me awhile to get the shape and size right. So do you like Canva? The free version sucked 🤣 I was shockingly bad, what plan do you use? Great video you made it look simple! I haven't been doing a video for the products but only collections... Maybe I need to rethink that too?

After I think it was @Sara_H posted about how to make a 'swinging ornament vid' in Canva, I finally checked out Canva. While there are things you can't do in the free version (most notably to me was how many of the background/templates/effects etc were locked to paid premium accounts) I've still had fun using it to make a couple of product vids, like this one. The fact that the free version doesn't put any Canva watermarks on your downloaded creation is a huge plus. And once you've pieced together a basic vid using Canva, you can further edit in your own vid editor after downloading if you want.

That’s actually really good because it showcases the product and the options perfectly. They don’t need fireworks and music. It’s good to know you can still do stuff in free version. I need to check out Sara’s video so I can learn how to make things swing! I might have seen it already but as noted above… I just can’t remember what I did yesterday at the moment …

P.S.
Used that vid to create another one for the Spanish version and it was pretty easy, just had to edit the text in the text fields, like changing template text on Zazle. (And again, free version with no post-editing after download.)

Exactly, once a video is created it can then be used over and over as a template. It's a pretty amazing platform I think. Especially if you can do all this for free.

I love Canva, every time I go on I find something new. I can’t even begin to list its possibilities . I know if I gave it more time there’s a lot I could do much faster especially on the marketing side. I’m trying to learn the ropes. Trouble is I forget what I’ve learned and have to start from scratch. My memory is not great at the moment. So much so I sent an idea for a new app to a guy I know who works on apple iPhone development team! He thinks it’s a good idea so I will wait patiently to see if that is realized. Honestly it’s quite a worry. But we all have things we battle with .
I saw something on YouTube that says ‘create video’ . I didn’t look at it yet but I wonder if you can now create videos via YouTube rather than just uploading them. That might be worth a peek. But how that works uploading to Zazzle I’m not sure.

Unfortunately, I can't get my video to upload to Zazzle, and they won't tell me what's wrong with it! So I won't be making any more. I think they are very distracting, anyway, and take away from the shopping experience.

I had trouble when I changed sizes, what works for me is 640x640px and a video no longer than 10 seconds, 5 is sufficient.
