I noticed today that the total product number changed in the back end of my store, but I am not sure by exactly how much because I became complacent and stopped making a note of it other than a mental note. Unfortunately, my recall isn't that great and I only remember for sure what the last 2 digits where- 77. It now ends in 79 and I don't know by how many it changed, but it did change and I am concerned that products got taken down because I around 100 products last year deleted because someone reported my floral art as a copyright violation and I sent "in progress" and finished pictures that I luckily had of me painting them myself. I never got an email or notice of my work getting taken down, I just happened across it and was very lucky to get them reinstated, but I am now gun shy about losing products with no notification.
My question is, does anyone know if the total number of products changes when items go in and out of stock or are discontinued? I always have it set to show "all" so I just assumed that would also include those items as well as everything else.
One would think ALL means ALL but in looking at my back-end numbers, it apparently doesn't. From what I see, ALL means everything except products flagged as Discontinued or Optimize Needed.
I wish they had a face palm emoji! I should have just added them up myself to see. Thank you so much Cols for always coming in with the analytical answer/suggestion! I am going to go do some math and see if I can see where the discrepancy is.
