I read a seller mentioned they were using Comet and that Zazzle kept blocking them. I had honestly never even heard of Comet before, so I did some research on it. What I found is that Comet isn’t just an AI writing tool. Apparently It’s a AI automation browser with agent features built in. Comet (Perplexity’s AI browser) is explicitly built as an AI-powered browser with automation and agentic features." the research said something about when those agent modes are turned on, Comet behaves like a bot. It can click things, move around pages, scroll, and do actions on its own without a human. That’s the part Zazzle blocks. It’s not the AI writing tool, It’s the automation part where Comet tries to act like a human and do the work for you.
So I thought I would open a discussion about AI verses bots, just so everyone knows what’s okay and what’s not on Zazzle. There’s a lot of confusion out there, and it helps to understand the difference before people panic over normal AI writing help.
A lot of sellers use AI for normal writing help, and that is not the same thing as automation . AI Writing Tools: These are things like Copilot, ChatGPT, Grammarly, and similar programs. They help with wording, grammar, clarity, SEO ideas, and titles. They don’t click anything on Zazzle, they don’t upload products, and they don’t fill out listings. They’re basically a spell and grammar checker with a little extra help for word flow. You type, it helps. That’s it.
Some browsers have an AI sidebar or a little chat window. Most AI browsers just sit there and help you write. Opening an AI tab does not give it control over your Zazzle account or your listings.
Bots and Automation: Bots are a whole different thing. Bots are programs that click buttons, fill out forms, upload products, or run scripts without a human doing the work. This is what Zazzle blocks. Automation tools can navigate pages or submit listings on their own, and Zazzle shuts that down fast. That’s the part that gets people blocked
Using AI to help write a product listing description or title is allowed. Using AI to fix grammar or help with SEO ideas is allowed. None of that breaks any rules. The only thing Zazzle blocks is automation that replaces human actions. And community posts that aren’t written by a human. There’s a big difference between writing tool / helper and a bot doing the work for you.
