Can't make a "clear" rectangle with a border

I seem to have this issue again - where when I select a square, I can’t get it to become a rectangle even if I hold CTRL and then try to expand it by the middle points. Should I be pressing something else or is there a dedicated rectangle shape that will allow me to remove the background and change the weight and colour of the border?

Also to add; I am also having trouble cropping photos to a rectangular shape. It won’t let me crop it to the size I’d like it to be but rather all sides must be relative - same issue with trying to make a square into a rectangle. LOL why does Zazzle hate rectangles so much 😂

At the top left of design tool, find Settings. Look there for LOCK ASPECT RATIO. Uncheck that.
