Hi Everyone. Is there any way to center your text within your artwork when the artwork itself is not centered within the design tool? I am asking because I am creating a vinyl sticker with a big piece of art and small ones around it. It is the big piece where I would like to put the text and turn that into a template for the customers. Thank you all so much in advance! Cheryl : )
Without seeing the artwork, I’m trying to imagine how you might do this. First, I’d make sure the text is center-aligned, and then I’d adjust the text box so it begins on the left side of the image and ends on the right side of it. The text should automatically align to the center, thus getting the desired result.
Also try Align To Selection (within the alignment tool). First select your object, then hold shift and select your text. In the alignment tool choose Align To Selection (the default is Align To Canvas) and then choose centering vertically and horizontally. Once things are aligned, I suggest grouping so you don’t accidentally mess it up and have to repeat the process.
Thank you both! : ) I do have one more question; how do I select my art, or object? Is there a way to do this without selecting the whole design area, as in Photoshop where I can select with the magic wand or quick selection tool? Oh, and one more thing, is there a way to create a text box without entering text first?
Don’t select inside the design space. Just click on the layer.
I don’t think you can create a text box without first creating text.

I actually ended up centering the blueberry in photoshop just to make it easier. Thanks so much again to both of you!!
It does look nice and centered.
Thanks so much!
Perfectly centered and also a great idea to target farmers’ markets!
Centre the text on the page, then add the rest of the graphics around it so that the text looks right in context, then group everything and drag to where you want it to be.
Thank you Barbara! Always a pleasure conversing with you. : )
Thank you! Never thought to do that. : )
