Collections stored by profile rather than by store

Hi everyone,

I have a question about Collections. I’m not sure if this is a new feature of the Collections or if this has always been the case.

I started a second store on the same profile and I tried to create a new collection and it told me that I already have a collection with that name. I realized then that the collections for my two stores were being combined in my profile. 

To clarify, I have two stores under my profile name, Hanifah. So when I create a collection in my new store (Cardamom and Cloves), this collection shows up under Collections in my profile (Hanifah) with all of the collections from my other store (Diwan Hanifah). 

My question: What is the wisdom in this? Personally, I would prefer not to have any collections under my profile and to only have them under the individual stores, but I’m open to hearing alternative views.

@DiwanHanifah  All collections are tied to your member account and that’s something that won’t change any time soon. 

You used to be able to hide all your collections from your member profile, but since the Great Collection Update 2023 - I can’t find a way for that to be possible (other designers may know)

It’s best practice to give your collections different titles and to ensure when you create them, they are attached to the correct store.

But all your collections - regardless of which store they are for - will appear in your collection of collections under your member profile
