Is it OK to download the Zazzle mockups, and then crop them and re-upload as a cover photo? Some of their in situ images are great, except they need to be cropped so you can see the design of the product better.
I wondered the same thing about posters, which mainly look like tiny rectangles on a vast wall.
It says not to use in situ images in Zazzle’s How to Guide on slide 4. Cover Photo Guide - 2022 - Google Slides
I’ve seen someone has used the digital download phone and placed it on their original cover photo. Is that not allowed?
I think that is perfectly fine since they have put it on their own cover photo. It essentially is the “product” so that would be the same as isolating any product image to put in your own cover photo.
Thank you. I overlooked that.
I think it is inevitable that creators will use existing product photos as a starting point for creating cover photos. The alternative would be to purchase everything and re-photograph! I think it is logical to isolate product images and incorporate into new backgrounds, using graphic software. I also think that where an item created has fine detail that doesn’t show too well in an existing photo, it is a good idea to zoom in on it and re-crop, ensuring the dpi is maintained.
