crisp photos

I have just started to use the Zazzle platform and have a question with how the photos look after uploading. 

I am making sure they are all dpi 300 but they seem to have not as crisp as the originals. Will they not print crisp with full colors?

I use canva to enlarge to 20x30 and Irfan to resize to the 300dpi.

I just started using canva for the 300 dpi this morning but it is the same way with not as crisp as the original one. 

Am I doing something wrong?

Crispness and brightness is a function of the material the image gets printed on. The more porous a material is, the less crisp and bright it will look. Optimal crisp/brightness will be found when printing on glossy paper, plastic, glass and ceramic products. It gets less so with matte paper, even less so with tissue paper and least of all on fabric or stone.

That does makes sense. I think I will order one of my decoupage papers so I can see first hand.

I resize my graphics and photos in Photoshop, and they always resize with crisp edges.
