Design Theme & Template Suggestions

Design theme:

  • When applicable, it would be practical if “design theme” / color options could be available in the options tab inside the design tool. Once they’ve edited their chosen template, I’m sure many customers would love to be able to see what their photos/logos/custom text would look like in the different color schemes without having to leave the design tool.
  • When a design has “other styles for this product” options, those should also be easily available in options (or perhaps templates would be better) for the same reason.

Templates:

I think templates would work a lot better with sorting/filtering options such as:

  • Recently used templates/template history for that specific session. Once a customer starts trying out templates, they’d probably appreciate being able to go back and forth between the ones they’ve looked at and compare them to one another before picking the design that’s perfect for them. The initial template could perhaps be marked in some way so that they can quickly return to it.
  • Theme + color scheme and similar. If a customer chooses a goth wedding invitation and clicks on “templates,” they most likely want to see more goth styles, not watercolor greenery or neutral minimalism. If they choose a bakery business cards, they don’t want to see a bunch of templates with artwork of makeup brushes, or sheers, or carpentry tools. That’s not the theme they’re after. Sorting by popularity and popularity only must be very frustrating for customers who are looking for something specific. They want to feel seen, not be overwhelmed by irrelevant options.
  • Templates by the same designer [as the initially chosen design]. Sometimes you find a designer whose style you’re very drawn to, and having the option to look through more designs by that person would be appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Yes, I agree. The same designer’s similar items should absolutely be shown first. The customer clicked on the item for a reason, they should be given the closest options first. This is why it is so important that they continue showing collections on product pages and not hiding them. They should also be showing in ‘templates’ first as well.
