I’ve never made higher than a 6. I tend to bounce between 5 & 6. I have no concrete evidence, but it seems to me like promoting & getting referrals is a key piece of the algorithm. I suspect that “link-overs” are a factor even if they don’t convert to actually bringing a referral because it shows you are actively trying to promote. I do very little promoting but sometimes have spurts where I will pin/share a bunch. I haven’t had such a spurt in some time, never mind actually earning a referral, and my rank dropped from 6 to 5 not long ago. In the past though, when I’ve bounced back up to 6 I could correlate that to having either actually earned a referral or just doing more promoting in general.

I have just reached a 7 this past month from a 6 just this year, both were a first for me. My sales have been increasing over the months despite the economy, maybe because I’ve almost doubled my products available or probably because of the rising ranking. Linkovers fluctuate, but a few more self referrals. Whatever you have been doing, keep doing it. Your 7 zranking is well deserved and hopefully continues to rise along with your success.
