I can’t find this topic at all in the forum though I certainly could have missed it as everything is new. Is anyone having trouble removing their products from being hidden? I will make item public, click on product, and edit as needed. The next day item is back to being hidden and my view isn’t registering. Is there a new procedure to keep products public or just a glitch?
Correct the tags, description, and title
You don’t have to change all the tags, title, and description unless you think it needs changed. I make them public all the time with out doing so because I can’t think of anything better than what I already have. I usually right click the product from the backend and make sure the page fully loads while I open up editing in the back and take a quick look at things. I save the changes and then use the dropdown under the product again and click on make public. I never do it inside the edit section. I made hundreds visible this way a little at a time the last couple of months because tons went hidden after a long hiatus. It does take about 24hrs to take effect.
Thanks. I know that you never had to make changes though I always look. I am overwhelmed with so many hidden in my four stores after the holidays. I will try your method and then give it 24 hours.
So I couldnt figure out why despite regular adding of new content ( and regular sales) my Z rank went from 7 to 6 to 5. So I went and checked my “hidden items” and I have TEN PAGES of hidden items ( yes about 6 needed tag update) Some seasonal stuff - which is ok, but TONS of whole collections and designs that seem to have just been hidden for no reason. Can anyone shed any light on why? Thanks!
I’ve been seeing this issue even on newly created products that I have initally set to hidden until I’m ready to make them public. I set them as public and nothing changes. Finally gave up and republished them as public from the start and deleted the original hidden ones.
Typically items are hidden if they have not been looked at for a long time. Making items hidden seemed to be suspended over the holidays but lots of hidden in one bulk move I think at the beginning of February.
Agree with @gogaonzazzle
Almost always tags can be made a little better, if it’s not being seen. Of course it’s a trade off for how much time you want to invest. I like to especially check for tags or content that is dated in case I had Christmas 2020 in there, etc.
