Image upload not right size

hello

I am trying to create a custom size 51x34" poster. I created my image as a 51x34" 300DPI PNG and high-res JPEG. When I try to upload either image, the design page tells me the image is too small (46.8x30.72"). When I try at 150DPI, the image appears even smaller. Is there a scaling problem in the designer software?

Did this issue ever get resolved, because I believe I am having the same issues. Uploading a 14mb file to create a 48" image on a tapestry. Warning comes up that the image may be blurry and pixelated and to use a larger file etc.
