Instagram Product Tags

Happy Monday to All!

I have attempted to do this multiple times and it is not working. So, I am looking for some guidance from those who have successfully accomplished it.

In posting on Instagram, I am unable to “tag” my “products” from the Zazzle Site. The problem is that, for some reason, the specific products I am promoting do not come up in the searches on the Instagram Zazzle site. I tried using the exact title and tags published on the Zazzle store. I also tried the search using the product ID, without any success. My products never come up on my searches.

Any advice on how to best accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Wafa

What I think you are going to have to do, is download the product image to you desktop then open up Instagram, upload the image, then add the product title, description, tags then the link to the product.

Try this approach and see if it works.

Hello. Thank you for the suggestion.

It still does not work. I was doing most everything you suggested but adding the tags. I tried that today but still did not work. I also usually download the product images using the mobile phone. The images downloaded there already have the Zazzle, store, and product info in the footprint notes. So, I tried using images downloaded on the desktop (per your suggestion) with no change in the results.

It seems the search ability is too limited to allow for a wide search (not sure). A few items show up after typing in 2-3 terms, and when limiting the search terms further, I get the generic “no items found” response. I wonder if we can somewhat tag our own stores; it would make life easier. I tried doing that as a search term but, obviously, did not work.

Thanks again for your input.

I don’t know what to tell.

I tested this on my end with one of my Instagram accounts and the image, link and #hashtags were all accepted by the system.

When you say tags you are talking about hashtags that require the pound sign in front of the word, I’m assuming. ie: #fractal #portrait #aiconceptart

If all things are correct; I would contact Instagram and explain the problem and also ask them if your account is being limited.

In the past on multiple occasions I have had to deal with a limited account. Which can sometimes last for several days.

I’m in the same boat and very frustrated. Have you figured anything out?

Nope; It’s still not working. I’ve given up on it. I tried the “Get Orders” for a while and then gave up on it as well. It is very limited in terms of what it offers.

I am having the same issue.
For those not clear what the OP is asking about. You can add a tag directly on the image in Instagram, then choose Products, then Zazzle. You are then able to do a search, but for some reason many people cannot find their items in the list. If someone has a trick for this I think there are a number of people, including myself that would be very grateful.

Not sure if this is a Zazzle issue or an Instagram issue.

Can anyone on Instagram able to do this, or is it just certain countries? Can’t see any tagging allowed at all.

From Instagram Help:
Tag products in your photos on Instagram

This feature isn’t available to everyone at this time.

You can tag products sold by shops in photos that you post on Instagram. Shops will be notified when you tag their products.

You can tag multiple shops and products in a photo. Photos can have up to 20 tags total.

You can only tag products if:

  • You have a public account.

  • Your content hasn’t been reported for going against our Community Guidelines more than 2 times in the past. Learn how to check your Account Status.

Tag products in photos

To tag a product in a photo:

  1. Tap the :plus: at the bottom or swipe right anywhere in Feed.
  2. Tap Post
  3. Select a photo from the gallery, then tap :right_arrow: and :right_arrow: again. Or, take a photo, then tap :right_arrow:
  4. Tap  Tag products , then tap the photo.
  5. Enter the name or username of a shop at the top. Or, tap a shop in the  Product source  suggestions. Either action will tag the shop.

Things to know

  • Shops can remove product tags from posts that feature their products.
  • Some shops may limit which users can tag products from their catalogs. Shops may change these settings at any time.
  • Your content must meet our Community Guidelines, otherwise product tags may automatically be removed.
  • Because your post is public, it will appear on your profile and in feed. It won’t appear in shops or on product pages unless you give the shop permission to feature your content. Learn how to accept or decline requests from shops to feature your content.
  • You won’t be paid if someone taps on a product tag in your photo and purchases a product.
  • If your content features or is influenced by a business partner for an exchange of value, it is considered Branded Content and you must add the paid partnership label. Learn more about our Branded Content Policies.

I don’t know if this helps; but when you go to Settings and privacy on your phone, select Business Tools and Control, then select Branded content, then select Request approval from brand partners. Then search for Zazzle and select the official Zazzle account. Then you have to wait till approved.  I think this will allow for tagging Zazzle products on your account since I think Zazzle has a Checkout Instagram Shop.  How long this will take to get approved, I have no idea; as I have been waiting months from the other platforms that I requested to be a brand partner with, and I’m still waiting.

This is amazing. Thank you. I knew there had to be some reason why my items dont appear. Will go through the process and report back if it worked

This is great information thank you! So I can add some more info. I have had a Facebook Shop, which linked to my Etsy Store where I sell POD products. Anyway I digress. From the experience I had tagging those products from instagram, I know that there has to be someone in Zazzle maintaining a remote spreadsheet as a product data feed for Facebook - that data feed would have to also include a remote link to the photo. Being able to find your products in that search on Instagram relies on someone adding it to the spreadsheet along with the photo link.

I started the process 6 days ago. Still pending with Zazzle.
