Is this save glitch a "feature now???

Holy cowpies, every time I make a design move the “save” has to process before I can make the next move! THIS IS SO ANNOYING, is there any way to turn off the constant autosave? Driving me flipping nuts!

Hey @chefcateringbiz ,

Sorry to hear about this issue. I reported it to the team.

Hey @chefcateringbiz ,

The team has asked for more information. What is the specific design that you are working on? Can you specify elements and actions taken? Thanks.

It’s all the designs I work on. Been going on for at least a month, I think. If I move an element, if I recolor something, if I add something, if I make any move at all, I’m waiting for autosave after every single action. Very particularly, when I move an element, it bounces right back to where I had it, then I have to move it again, wait for it to save before I can move it again, wait for save. It’s slower when moving my own image elements than the text or other Zazzle elements like lines. Some days it’s worse, some days it’s better.

Hey @Harmony_S ,

I was just going to request the same thing and found this thread. I totally understand why autosave is a good feature - especially for customers. But it’s causing so much latency in the system that it makes the design tool nearly impossible to use - especially for those of us who need to move around fairly quickly.

As far as I can tell, it saves after each change. The problem is when you’re trying to line up elements or tweak the placement of something the system goes out to lunch for 2 seconds after each tiny movement. It’s especially bad when trying to use the keyboard shortcuts to edge something into place. And if you’re trying to work with a lot of different elements, you have to remind yourself to stop and wait until the dot turns green before moving on to the next element or else the focus jumps back to the previous element and applies whatever you just did to the wrong element!

Please give us some way to control this!

If you’re experiencing this issue please visit this website and check the speed of your internet and let us know what the result is. https://www.speedtest.net/

Download Speed: 932.17 Mbps
Upload Speed: 358.94 Mbps

Download 114 Upload 53; clearly if Cat is having the same problem with her speed, that isn’t the problem. I have ZERO problems like this anywhere else. I sometimes have other speed issues with Zazzle, and on those days I just log off and come back another day. Doesn’t happen often, it’s just annoying when I’m motivated and the site is too slow to tolerate.

There’s definitely a lag. I select an item and it jumps back to the previously selected item, so I basically have to click everything twice.

I don’t know if it is related, but things are jumping around like crazy today. I can place something, wait a second, and it will hop an inch over from where I dropped it. I have to ‘place’ something about 5 times before it actually goes where I want it. It was never this bad until today for me.

I think it is related. Watch the save icon at the top - anything you do while it’s yellow (in saving mode) doesn’t register. So if you move something while the dot is yellow it will jump back to where it was. And sometimes it applies things to the wrong object because its brain is a few steps behind. It was making me absolutely nutty until I figured out what was happening. Now I just watch that icon and don’t click on anything or make any changes while its yellow. It’s a massive pain but at least there’s some rhyme or reason to what’s happening which makes it ever so slightly less maddening!

I will have to try again when I get back to my desk. But it was I would drag the item and let go, I wouldn’t do anything else or click anywhere, and then it would hop. I’m not sure of the order of the ‘saving’…. I want to say it would hop and then save. Then I’d move it again, not click on anything and after a second it would hop. And so on. I was definitely only doing one movement at a time and waiting either way.

@Jo_P Just a thought, but I wonder if the “hopping” issue is connected to another problem that’s still ongoing? It only happens when zooming in past 300%. If you move an object and then wait about 3-4 seconds, you see the object move again!

Dunno. I’ve always experienced a bit of a lag when zooming in too much.

@chefcateringbiz I was just wondering if the zoom “hopping” issue was what Jo_P was describing. It’s in addition to the autosave lagging issue!

@SheaPrints that could very well have been it. I was trying to move some small items on the artboard. Arguably the ones you’d likely be moving at higher zoom rates. :see_no_evil_monkey:
