I think it would be great for Zazzle to update its mockups on all products. I think new modern mockups will increase the sales for Zazzle and the creators / designers. I’d like to see that, more detailed, more beautiful, more modern. I’d love that. We have everything new, why not that? ![]()

I would love to see more mockups with neutral colors. Some products like plaques and wrapping paper have bold blue or teal colors that don’t look great with every design.
I sometimes buy some gorgeous neutral mock-ups by one particular seller on Etsy.
I agree. Neutral mock ups would be great. It would definitely save the creators time and $.
I agree! But I think mockups are from the manufacturer/printer, not from Zazzle. Since Zazzle is just kind of the middleman handing all of the customer service between us, the customers and the drop shippers. That’s probably why some are great and others not so much:
Edit: Just like it’s easy for customers to assume that we are the “sellers,” it’s easy for us to assume Zazzle is the manufacturer (or I should say hard to separate what it is that Zazzle does - it is sometimes in my mind, at least)
**I’m now actually wondering if this manual is for their artisan makers. I see they have their “Enterprise” program too, which is probably the manufacturers for our designs. Regardless, I do think that the manufacturers might supply the mockups.
***So many edits: In researching, it looks like they do handle their own digital production for paper products like invites. I don’t think all of them, but prob most of the flat digitally printed cards.
Zazzle makes many of the products, not all of them, but they do make products. I believe they also have this patented technology that makes 3-D images of products too. Zazzle documentation isn’t always complete or updated in a timely manner.
Oh I forgot about the patented “real view” from back in the day. It is still called that, but that type of thing is definitely not exclusive anymore.
And yes, I should have just deleted my entire post down to “I think manufacturers supply the background photos of the mockups.” I went down a rabbit hole of research and they do have quite a history. I was only able to find that they previously had 2 facilities in CA for paper products and some t-shirts before moving them to Reno, Nevada. A lot of their specialty print for cards is through other POD manufacturers. My latest digital card samples actually came from PA, and the acrylic cards from IN.
Idk. But yes, better mockups for some items would be nice! : )
It is very difficult to research a privately held company. I am not sure it really matters. At least not for me.
Yes, and it is actually impressive that they are still private with all of that growth. They are a unique company for sure! I will always remember them fondly even if it all disappears.
And yah, it doesn’t really matter much. You’re right. I went down a late night rabbit hole trying to verify whether manufacturers or Zazzle makes those mockup pics. In hindsight, I should have put all of that in my journal
5 community post edits later, I settled on that I still think manufacturers make them.
