newbie making mugs - centering on template question

Hello all!
Yes I’m a newbie and I have been trying to place my design on mugs. The trouble I’m having is it seems if you properly center the design on the template, it will look off on the preview images. And if you center the design to look correct on the preview images, it is off-set on the template. 

Which makes the best printed mug - should I center my images on the template or go by the preview images?

Also - I found the Zazzle forums through a Google search. How do I get to the forums from my account - where is the link?

Zazzle has always said we should trust what we see in the design tool, not what we see in the preview or the final product. The reason for this is that the previews aren’t necessarily done with complete precision.

Forums: Go to your store’s “Home” page (far left tab) and on the right you’ll see a list of “Quick Links.” The second of those links is to the forums. Suggestion: Bookmark the forums. It’s a lot easier than searching for a link.
