Notification Bell has disappeared?

Notification has disappeared,

is this a glitch?

Thanks

@CreativeLeahG  mine has disappeared too. (briefly came back April then went away again) I reported it 10th May but not had any feedback as to whether it’ll ever get fixed. Could be something about being in the UK? Who knows.

Mine has never worked. I have never received any notification from sales or favorites, even though I have all the options turned on.

It’s not a non-U.S. domain thing, as I lost my notifications bell for a while and I’m based in Canada, and @Barbara  also lost hers around the same time and she got hers back a while before I did.

:face_blowing_a_kiss:I miss my bell :bell:

I hear ya. It’s like missing your personal cheerleader! Also helps you keep on top of the products to be optimized. 😉

@WHS_Designs  I know. Didn’t realize how much I needed to know about optimization until I find that half my halloween stuff is hidden. :rofl::joy::rofl:

@Sara_H

it’s too bad we can’t see the link for notifications, in the way we can see chats (as zazzle.com/chat) or the shopping cart (as zazzle.com/co/cart) … at least, there would be a workaround (of sorts). maybe javascript is being used for the notifications bell?

I tried looking at the page source, but it’s unresponsive at the moment. :disappointed_face:

@Sara_H  honestly, I ignored the optimization notifications until fairly recently. it wasn’t a good move on my part! 😅

I’m going out on a limb here, and I’m not sure if you can check this out on your end, but when I view the page source for zazzle.com (by hitting Ctrl + U keys together), on line 450** (a hideously long piece of coding), I find that there’s part of it that reads

OnsiteNotifications.Enabled":{“value”:true,“success”:true},

see if the value and success are true for you? (mind you, there are 11 instances of notifications, so I’m just throwing darts on the board, but give it a try anyway).

**(to shortcut the process of manually finding OnsiteNotifications, hit Ctrl + F and key in OnsiteNotifications)

ETA: you may have to change the domain to zazzle.co.uk if the OnsiteNotifications.Enabled values are both true.

@WHS_Designs  When I’m logged on the .com - www|OnsiteNotifications.Enabled":{“value”:true,“success”:true}

Logged on the .uk -  “www|OnsiteNotifications.Enabled”:{“value”:false,“success”:true}

so we have a false on the uk -but I still don’t see them on the .com

@Sara_H  hmmm … that false value is rather interesting.

can you log out of the U.K. domain and log in only to the U.S. domain and tell me if the notifications bell icon is still missing from the U.S. domain? (chances are it will still be absent regardless of the domain), but give it a try anyway.

@WHS_Designs  logged out of uk (I only go on there to check my changes to titles/tags have been successful - 90% of the time it hasn’t)

Bell still missing from .com

@Sara_H

my theory is that it only takes one instance of a false value on a single domain to render the notifications bell icon nonexistent across all domains (note: I have some crazy theories). :wink:

so now maybe would be a good time to advise the Zazzle Tech team that your UK domain has a value of false on OnsiteNotifications.Enabled that should be corrected?

OnsiteNotifications.Enabled":{“value”:false,“success”:true},

@WHS_Designs  Hopefully the Tech Team are reading this thread and have seen it and will fix it

@Sara_H

uh oh … I just logged into the zazzle.ca domain
and I get the same “www|OnsiteNotifications.Enabled”:{“value”:false,“success”:true} as you’ve gotten on the U.K. domain. :disappointed_face: (my U.S. domain shows true enabled for value and success).

so unless there’s someplace else in the coding that notifications are turned on, we’re back to square one. arggh.

@WHS_Designs  nooooo. But you’ve still got the bell though on the .com?

@Sara_H  oh yes. I have had the notifications bell back on the U.S. domain for a while now.
