We’re beginning a series of updates to all our paper products aimed at enhancing the customer experience, improving manufacturing efficiency, and elevating overall quality. These updates are based on industry trends, competitive analysis, and extensive internal testing.
As part of this initiative, some paper types will be discontinued, with existing content automatically migrated to available paper type options - no action required on your part. In addition, we’re refining paper type names to make them clearer for customers and to help drive stronger conversion rates.
We’ve started with four products so far: Gift Tags, Favor Tags,** Door Hangers, and Wineglass Tags** and will be expanding to all other paper products as soon as possible. Gift Tags changes are already live, and Favor Tags, Door Hangers, and Wineglass Tags are currently in the migration process.
These changes are aimed to deliver several benefits:
Streamlined product offerings with more consistent pricing and improved parity for customers.
An enhanced shopping experience that makes it easier for customers to find, understand, and purchase products.
Increased performance and sales potential for your products.
What You Need to Know
All content currently published on discontinued paper types will be automatically migrated to an available paper type. Additionally, semi-gloss will be migrated to matte to drive stronger sales potential.
During the migration, both old and new paper options will be temporarily live (typically for about one day).
Once the migration is complete, the discontinued paper type options will be removed from the platform_,_ but this will not impact your products, as they will have already been automatically migrated to the new paper type.
If you have cover photos for paper types that are being discontinued, the system will typically remove them automatically. We recommend checking your designs and making any adjustments if needed.
We are introducing Premium Soft Touch , a new, premium paper type. This elevated option features a soft, velvet-like finish and a thicker weight. This will replace the current paper types for Kraft , Felt Ecru , Columned , Laid , Felt White , Champagne Shimmer , and Metallic Silver for most flat paper types.

We’re looking forward to these improvements and the positive impact it will bring to the customer experience and your designs. Thank you for your partnership as we continue evolving together.
It would be SUPER helpful if the names and/or descriptions of the paper could indicate whether it is bond weight (foldable text paper) or cover weight (cardstock). Without that information, the lb weight designations are essentially meaningless because 20lb bond weight paper and 20lb cover weight paper are COMPLETELY different things - and it’s NOT reasonable to expect a lay person to understand that - I don’t think most designers even understand that because in order to understand the numbers you basically need a PhD in the history of the print industry!
Maybe the names/descriptions could simply indicate if it’s text paper or cardstock - I think that terminology would make sense to most people. This is a big problem for the paper sheet product where there are both bond and cover weight paper options.
Some designs were added to Kraft paper to specifically appeal to a specific market and perhaps had Kraft in title and tags ( as it is desired as specific paper type) those products are now in error.
Same re silver and pearl shimmer. Designs with glitter or metallic theme won’t work on soft fluffy Matt alternative.
i know we have option to make changes but with thousands of products and ongoing errors due to changes like this ( apparently the customisation re the new design tools is throwing up all manner of errors) it means tweaking ongoingly and never doing anything else. And seems redundant at this point as who knows what is around the corner to make any updates we do a time wasting exercise.
Hi Creators - Thank you for your feedback and questions.
@Sara_H - I checked with the team and they confirmed that yes, the kraft paper will be discontinued for bottle hanger tags. Will update the list. Thank you!
@kristenj - Yes, the Premium Soft Touch is the same material used for the bookmarks.
@Cat & @CreativeLeahG - Thank you for your feedback, I sent it along to the team to review/look into.
BULK MERCHANDISING OPTION TOOL PLEASE!
Please finally give us the option to bulk change product merchandising options within a product type. Changes like this create huge zazzle induced messes and headaches for designers with no way to recover without going through the time consuming process of updating listings one by one. With zazzle creating yet another big mess (in a growing succession of recent zazzle induced messes) as this is sure to be — given how many huge categories will be affected — at least give us a tool to fix listings with less disruption.
Now would really be a great time to add that drop down menu on missing cover images! You may not realize the impact this actually has when removing the cover images on thousands or millions of products. And this would make it so much easier and faster to find and ultimately fix these, if there was a specific way to search for them.
This might cause some issues. Just yesterday I was fixing a small collection that used metallic paper, which made the cover look a bit gray even though it had no background. Well, yesterday I changed the type of luxury paper and added a slight gray tone to the background so I wouldn’t have to create a new cover, and the effect is actually quite similar. Today (I’m in Europe) a sale was made, so on one hand, there’s the order where the customer customized it as they wished and kept the background as it was, and on the other hand, there’s my modification.
The product is https://www.zazzle.com/luxurious_ring_bearer_black_suit_ornate_dome-256033233326973326
I think you can understand that the most logical thing would be to send the product exactly as it was ordered, but without canceling my change and avoiding having to redo it.
Hi @Mariholly , i took a look at what the customer order and I don’t believe the change you made was reflected so this should be ok and true to what they actually wanted/ordered.
