If posters are discontinued because a certain size is no longer available, even though no specific size was fixed for the product and customers are free to choose the size, why does the entire product have to be disabled? Wouldn’t it be possible to keep the product available and simply inform customers during the size selection that certain sizes are currently unavailable?
I had only two posters discontinued, in my case it was the frame, when I changed the selection without frame it was changed back to active again, I’d like to use standard size if possible just because of prior discontinued items , anything costumed sized takes longer to produce.
Discontinued products are not fun and many times instead of transferring I just deleted them, unless I want to save the design than I hide it to be transferred on something else later. By transferring to a different product I lose the views and possibly sales, not an ideal situation.
They’re asking us to choose an ideal new size ourselves so the unavailable one isn’t the default shown to customers.
I agree that posters in the discontinued size should still appear in our stores with the message that the customer should choose another size. Now, these posters don’t appear at all in my store. I had set my default size for posters at 12 by 8 inch, so this affects hundreds of posters, many of which have sold multiple times but are now not visible until I change the size. I’ve chosen 18 by 12 inch for my new default, which hopefully won’t be discontinued.
The most annoying thing is not only to reactivate the product by choosing the new ideal default size. But when i choose a new size, the previously added product product picture disappears (if you added your own picture and didn’t choose a default picture) and you have to upload the picture again.
And something else that’s a bit annoying in general—not just for posters (since I’m already in complaining mode
): if you create custom product images for different colorways and the product is grouped, the custom image is only displayed for the first colorway. When customers click through the other colorways, they don’t see the corresponding custom product image.
It takes a lot of work to create high-quality custom product images, and they make the product look much more appealing. It’s a shame that customers only get to see them for the first colorway.
I’m not sure if I’m explaining this clearly, but hopefully you know what I mean.
Ideally, I think the best option would be that Zazzle allows us to post an image for a poster without a default size, so that the customer can choose from among all of the sizes. If the aspect is essential to the design, that box could be checked. This would eliminate the problem of a future discontinued size and the need to update hundreds of posters (in my case.)
Agreed, I only had one that needed updating.
No you don’t. You just have to click on your current mockup when you republish to get it to appear again. I had around 20 or so posters I had to resize & was able to keep the mockup on everything.
Oh, wow, you are right. Thank you, i didn’t know that!
RB used to have certain required sizes for each of their products. They did that sizing on their end, and I used to enjoy that aspect. But, there are times where I enjoy the freedoms here as well.
I have 1000s to update, this will take me months. It’s really upsetting that Zazzle didn’t give us a heads up so I could have gotten ahead of this.
Ouch! That’s rough.
There has to be a better way to deal with discontinued sizes.
Right there with you. Guess no new designs for me for a while!
I wish we could just pick a new size instead of having to completly remake the poster to list it for sale. Ugh they made a ton of extra work for us.
You can edit your poster and change the size. It’s basically the same amount of work as posting a new one, but at least you don’t lose the stats with it.
