I have a query on how the royalties are calculated when there is no third party referral. The sale was for for $22.66. My 35% promoter programme royalty is accurate at £7.93, however, my standard 10% royalty is coming through as $1.82. So appears to have the 20% cut missing which you would normally see on a third party sale. Is this normal? The item was a planner and has been customized. Would this cause this?
Can’t think of any other reason why this would happen if self referred.
Any time there is a self or 3rd party referral earned, 20% is deducted from your royalty and used towards the referral earned. It seems counterintuitive to “lose” 20% of ones royalty to pay your own self referral, but that is how the program works.
As PacifierCity said, 20% of the gross royalty is “carved out” on referred sales regardless of whether it is 3rd-party or Self. All in all, the $10.20 you earned on this sale was 45% of the total paid to Zazzle by the customer so, NICE!
