I did want to include one detail for Zazzle team that I don’t recall having seen before - when you first make a product, it does briefly show up in the backend search. It doesn’t seem to stick for more than a day. So it may be something that when indexing sweeps through, that is what is breaking the backend search.
(to be clear, yes, I have been having this issue for the past two months and I would also really love to see it fixed!)
I just tested this and you might be right!! The product I created about 3h ago can be found but the one I created yesterday is not searchable in the backend anymore.
I think there’s still a problem. I created a collection and I know for sure I wrote ring instead of rink on some tags. I duplicated the products to create matching ones so I know it must be on more products tags. When I search for ring or skating ring on my shop backend, it defaults to the department of jewelry:
All Departments
Accessories
Jewelry
Rings
And of course it then gives 0 results on the backend but I know for sure the text “ring” is on my tags. Can you please take a look at this? Thanks!
In the meantime, have you tried searching for “skating” without adding “ring”? Granted, you might have to scroll to the bottom of every single product to see if it says ring or rink, but at least you could get the job done. Or it might be a tad faster to click “Edit Details” for each one to check the tags and make the correction for any rings that are found.
This is because you unfortunately cannot search for a term that is also a product type. It has always been this way and is why I cannot search for “basketball” or “football.” All this does is bring up that product type.
Exactly @epicdesigns From the beginning, I have been concerned that we can not limit searching to NON-product terms (search only design descriptors). The search function here is terrible. We should be able to search “This AND That”, or “This AND NOT That”
