search just shows sponsored adverts

Does everyone else get this? I am trying to search for a gift, and whatever term I use to search I get a page 1 of results, but then when I click on page 2, or next, just sponsored adverts come up, and no products related to my search, then it is impossible to get back to the first page I saw.  Is this normal, it makes it really hard to buy, when you are just searching for something to buy, and haven’t a specific product in mind. I would just give up.

I just searched for “shamrock leggings” and was unable to replicate your results on my iPad and on my phone.

Yes it works fine, on ipad and phone, sorry should clarify, the search doesn’t work on a computer.

Ah, okay. Which browser?

It’s working fine on my computer. I think you must have a glitch on yours. Maybe clear your cookies, or use a different browser? I’m using Firefox.

I’m not getting sponsored adverts.. I’m getting  nothing.. (on my PC win 11 Chrome Version 122.0.6261.70 ) no more products..  past page 1 - no wonder sales are down..

Ok, had a bit of experiment, it doesn’t work with Chrome browser, on my computer or my sisters at another address. Only page 1 at page 2 I get this , However, it does work on internet explorer.

I see Deb above also couldn’t get past page 1 using Chrome, which is a worry because that’s a very popular browser.

This is what I get as well.

Editing to add: I’m also on Chrome and Win 11 pro.   I cleared my cookies and browsing data and it did not fix the problem.  Oddly, on Chrome under a “guest” browser account it works fine. I also used my son’s Chrome browser and it works fine.  I don’t know what any of this means but figured I’d let the more tech savvy know. :slightly_smiling_face:

I had this same problem when I installed Lyn Analytics browser extension. I uninstalled it and search results returned to normal. Have you added any browser extensions recently?

This solved my issue! I’d recently tried out a trial for an ai extension (it allows you to stay on the page you’re working on and generate text). I didn’t love it, but didn’t bother to uninstall it. I just uninstalled all the extensions I don’t use and my search is back to good now!  Thanks so much!

Thanks for the screenshot @Deb . I’ve passed this along to engineering for review.

I am so glad that this helped you. I won’t be installing any more browser extensions!

I’m marking this as the solution because browser extensions can certainly modify the contents on a web page.

Thanks CrazyMermaid, this was it, I uninstalled Lyn Analytics, and it is fine now.
