Good morning,
I’ve gone back and forth with Support a couple of times, and today’s response was “The links seem to be working as expected as far as we can see.” But they’re not working for everyone under all circumstances.
For reference, it’s Incident Reference Number: CAS-10317719-V2S0J5 under my primary account.
When I am logged IN my account , and I customize some of my products (template fields or in the Design Tool), grab the short link, and open the short link in a browser where I am logged in or out, the short link does NOT show the customizations. I have tested it with an Apron on 2 computers and 3 browsers (Firefox, Chrome, and Edge), and on 2 cell phones in 2 browsers (Chrome and Firefox). One of those cell phones is two weeks old and has no garbled caching issues. I’ve cleared cookies and have no browser extensions activated. I’ve rebooted all devices, before and in between, as well. My customizations are not being saved in the short link under specific circumstances (see below following more testing today).
When I am logged OUT of my account , they work as intended – same steps. Customize my product (template fields), grab the short link, and paste the short link in a browser where I am logged in or out, then the customized template fields show the changed text.
What I have discovered this morning with additional testing:
Where I have chosen NO to “Show ‘Customize it’ Button?” on the Publish Product page, the short links WILL NOT work as intended when I open the short link. They don’t work when I paste them where I am logged in and they don’t work when I paste them where I am logged out.
Where I have chosen YES to “Show ‘Customize it’ Button?” on the Publish Product page, the short links WILL work as intended when I open the short link. They work when I paste them where I am logged in and they work when I paste them where I am logged out.
Above occurs whether I end up in one of the A/B design tools or the standard design tool.
I choose NO to customer customization due to asset licensing issues on most of my products. No third parties are permitted to manipulate the assets. Therefore, I make the customizations and send short links to people. Lack of this functionality also hamstrings customers who modify template fields and attempt to share with their friends or family.
I would appreciate if someone could look into it.
