So I have had my store for nearly 10 years. As many creatives may have found for themselves, I have gone off niche many times. I have made some new stores, but just to secure the names (it’s a bit like parking a domain name). I feel that since I have 2500 products (yikes! I seem to remember having 8k) and the niche has been infiltrated with daydreams, I need to subdivide. First issue is that I cannot simply assign my collections to stores. It seems they have been locked down with “Store cannot be changed after the collection has been created”.
In other words.
• You can have one product and assign many collections.
• You can’t have one collection and assign it to different stores.
The only solution is to create a duplicate collection for your other store. But, this is quite a big overhead for designers. Why can’t we create one collection and assigning it to different stores? Or have I missed something?
Another question is whether I should keep a master store with everything in it or make my collections/products exclusive to each store. umm. How does this extra store affect external links? - something to think about.
