Strange royalties in brackets

Does anyone have any idea what these strange 4$ royalties in brackets are?
This was a sale of 80 enclosure cards

Hi @Cristina ,

I believe this is due to the user options selected.

Thank you, @Mark
But I didn’t quite get that
According to what is explained on the royalty page, a “^ User Options, such as special sizes and embellishments, pay a fixed royalty of 5%”, so I guess in this case the user option is the 28$ total with the 5% royalty that makes a 1.4 $ royalty, while the 10% of (4.00$) would be another 0.40$, for a total of 1.80$
It’s a 3rd party sale, so there is a carveout, but to be honest, I never understood exactly how this is calculated, but I don’t think that the carveout could be as high as 1.00$ in this case

I’ve had the exact same thing happen to me on enclosure cards this week. I wrote directly to Z about my situation. They have replied the answer is taking longer to get but they will get back to me. I’ll post something here once I hear from them.

I, too think it might have been because the customer literally went into the design tool and did a total re-arrange and therefor it wasn’t sold as my own design. But I’d rather know for sure what happened.

Wait, wait, wait. If a customer gets carried away on one of our templates, we lose the royalty? How do you know they did this? hmmm. I haven’t seen this bracketed (4.00). Be nice to be prepared if I do. Please keep us posted on this one.

thank you!

In case you are still looking for an answer, I guess this is how it works out:

Price(1) Royalty %(2) 20% deduction for 3rd party(3) Net Amt (1*2*3)
28 5% 80% 1.12
-4 10% 80% -0.32
Total 0.80

Hope it helps.
