Threaded posts in the forum?

Is there a setting somewhere that displays post replies in a threaded format? In other words, a way to see replies to a comment indented under that comment? I’m having trouble following some of the posts because it isn’t clear who’s replying to what. I’ve looked at preferences but don’t see anything.

Hi @Nathalie - If someone replies directly under a comment, it should show directly under the thread. Here’s an example:

Please let us know if you are not seeing on your end. Thanks!

@Heather_B I can see that too, but it also shows as a completely separate comment, which could definitely get confusing.

Thanks so much for the reply, Heather. I’m not seeing that. I have all replies with the same alignment and no nesting. I have to click on the username that the comment is replying to (Jo_P in the example below) and then click the option that says ‘Load parent post’ to see the view you have. It’s really cumbersome to have to do it every time.

Ooooh, I see you have to click on the number of replies under a comment to see that view. As @Jo_P said, replies are still displayed as separate comments as well so it is very hard to keep track in posts with a lot of comments.

Thanks for your feedback! I will see if the team can change this somehow.

Thanks, Heather, that would be great.

Hi all, we looked into this and can confirm it’s not something we can change. It’s the template the platform enforce.

Click on the number of replies? More clicking, sure, why not? Ugh, I’m not enjoying this new forum AT ALL.

Just want to say,MasterpieceCafe, that I am with you. I am having trouble understanding what this new very busy, convoluted , confusing layout gained us that we needed and did not have before. This takes up way more of my time just trying to find things and figure out what is going on than is reasonable. I love coming to the forum over these many years but this is apt to push me away from it. Just looking at these pages is stressful–there is print all over the place. I just keep asking myself, “why?” Why was this necessary or was there not a better way to do it than what we are experiencing currently.
