Note: This tip is not about being ‘seen’ on Zazzle marketplace but rather out there on other social media platforms.
We are often reminded to start designing items a few months ahead of various gifting seasons
ie, get doing your Mother’s Day items now.
BUT the way to maximise the seasons is more a case of ‘sharing’ (resharing) those items you made ‘whenever’ around 6 weeks ahead of the gifting season.
So you may have lovely Christmas items from last Christmas. You already shared them last year and you may assume that’s enough for them to be seen for the coming Christmas. It is likely that will only be the case IF someone is specifically looking for your item and their search matches whatever it is you shared that previous year.
However, there is a lot of shopping that is done impulsively because things ‘pop up’ on a customers radar at the right time.
You might think this means designing a ton of new stuff to share newly now, and yes that’s a great way to go BUT what about those great designs of previous years?
Make a point to re-pin, re-tweet, re -instagram, FB etc. those older items you believe still hold great value (they’re still on trend etc - many items are timeless) to once again have them ‘appear’ as ‘new’ items under the nose of customers who are not even ‘shopping’ at that time. Your item may catch their eye and as the ‘season’ is approaching, they’ll take a closer look. Hence the term ‘impulse’ buying, shopping etc.
You may be concerned about sharing duplicates. I will let you debate that, I am not aware of any adverse effects myself… but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.
